Stay calm after a snake bite. DO NOT move a lot or walk. Never try to suck out the venom or cut the bite with a knife or razor blade. DO NOT put ice on the wound, or drink alcohol or consumer stimulants or pain medications unless prescribed by a qualified health worker. To reduce the flow of poison to other parts of the body, keep the wound below heart level. If the bite is on a limb like an arm or leg, wrap a band over and above the wound. Rush to the nearest health unit for IMMEDIATE treatment.
